Christmas is a great time to gather around the tv, with a cup of hot chocolate and watch a family movie together. The only problem is, many Christmas movies may be funny and light but don’t have a deeper meaning. That’s why I was so excited to have the opportunity to review The Heart of Christmas.
About the Story
The Heart of Christmas tells the story of Austin and Julie Locke, who are devastated to learn that their young son, Dax, has been diagnosed with cancer. With courage, determination and faith, they decide to give Dax one last Christmas – Even if it has to be in October. When the community sees the holiday decorations and learns the heartbreaking truth, what happens next is a miraculous outpouring of care and support. The Heart of Christmas will touch your heart and bring home the spirit of the holidays. The cast includes Candace Cameron Bure (“Make It or Break It,” “Full House”), Jeanne Nielson (Faith Like Potatoes), George Newbern (Father of the Bride), Erin Bethea (Fireproof) and music from singer/songwriter, Matthew West.
This movie is such a sweet story and yet you walk away really thinking about the meaning of life and the real reason for Christmas. The movie stars Candace Cameron Bure and some other great Christian actors!
Another fantastic thing about this movie is that it raises awareness for the Dax Locke Foundation which raises money for St. Jude’s Children Hospital! Believe me, after watching this movie you will want to get involved as well. This heart warming and yet sad movie at times, won’t leave you feeling giddy and ready to decorate a Christmas tree but rather reflect on Christ and how you can serve others during this time.
This is a great movie to watch with the whole family. AND they have a FREE digital Bible study guide to go along with the movie so that you can lead your whole family in a time of study after watching this movie. I am excited to have FOUR copies of the movie to giveaway! You can enter below or buy your own copy of the DVD or Digital download.
